About Jesse RS

Jesse RS is a Denver-based indie rock band with folk and funk influences. The four-piece band has a unique addictive sound with their direct hooks and energetic style which thrives in a live setting. Jesse RS combines the elements of storytelling songwriting, a tight-knit rhythm section and such auxiliary sounds as saxophone, clarinet, ukulele and Irish whistle to create a musical blend to appeal to a variety of musical tastes. Band members cite such musical influences as Led Zeppelin, The Temptations and Dave Matthews Band when shaping their individual tastes and sounds, yet as a whole, Jesse RS avoids mimicking these timeless groups.

To date, Jesse RS has amassed a noticeable list of accomplishments. Even before all of the pieces were in place, the band’s premiere music video, a post-apocalyptic zombie themed setting, for the single “Play” was launched and has since received over 10,000 views. This was followed up with the launch of two more music videos: “Number” and “At My Feet.” Both are currently streaming on both YouTube and Vevo. The band released their debut album, “Drinkers & Jokers,” in May 2014 and shortly thereafter completed their first national tour to promote the new release. Notable tour stops since the band hit road have included the Backwoods Music Festival in Oklahoma, several shows in Chicago including the Logan Square Beer Festival, several outdoor summer concert series’ in North & South Carolina and Illinois, local Denver festivals including the Underground Music Showcase and Higher Ground Music Festival and support roles for such national acts as The Kin, Nick Thomas of the Spill Canvas, Birch Street, Little Green Cars and the Dave Matthews Tribute Band. The single “Number” has been accepted by Crucial Music out of Los Angeles on a publishing deal to be included for future consideration in movies, television shows, video games and other mass media. Currently, the band is working on their next full-length album due out in the spring of 2017. This follow-up to their debut album is sure to emphasize their musical and instrumental diversity.

The members of Jesse RS came together from across the country. From Pennsylvania to Colorado, it requires a myriad of styles, influences, sounds and experiences to create the sound of Jesse RS.

Meet the Band

Jesse began as a solo acoustic performer in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Over the years, his guitar sound and songwriting was shaped by early influences ranging from Zak Wylde to Smokey Robinson. In 2009, Jesse’s musical pursuit moved him to Denver in search of a full band where he single-handedly produced and recorded the original 3-song EP for “Drinkers & Jokers” and successfully launched the music video for “Play.”

Chris is a global performer originating from Reading, Pennsylvania. Having graduated high school with music honors and college with degrees in music education, composition and saxophone performance, Chris was afforded the privilege of visiting all 7 continents while entertaining thousands of guests aboard various luxury cruise liners. These years of cruise ship performance helped him find his way onto the sub lists for such working artists as the Dave Matthews Tribute Band out of Atlanta, TAD Management out of Phoenix and Jessica Ryan out of Nashville. Additionally, Chris has had the pleasure of backing up such renowned artists as Judy Carmichael, Dale Kristien, Fabio Zini, and Melissa Manchester. Chris continues to arrange and transcribe for solo performers around the world as well as entertain as a solo act himself in a smooth jazz setting in his free time.

Justin’s love of music started early on, here on the Front Range, with the likes of The Grateful Dead, SRV, The Beatles and Led Zeppelin. He started playing alto sax in grade school and quickly picked up stringed instruments as a young teen. Traveling the world with his guitar and playing all around Colorado, he has found himself with both feet planted here in Denver. With four years of enjoying and being part of the Denver music scene, he has felt right at home with the guys of Jesse RS.

Sean got his first drum kit at the age of 12. Having been influenced by such greats as Tony Royster Jr, Jon Bonham, and Carter Beauford, Sean’s versatile style allowed him to play all over the northwest Chicagoland as well as numerous venues in Milwaukee with several bands. His high energy, upbeat drumming is nothing short of perfection both in the studio and on stage.
