Happy New Year 2018
2017 proved to be quite the year for us. We came into the year with high hopes, but a new year always seems to bring with it the promise of new success and a clean slate. We were right in the middle of finishing up our latest album, “What We Want” and were squarely focused on it’s release, promotion and marketing. We were still in “recording hibernation” for the first half of the year, but when we resurfaced at our listening party show in Denver in May, you all reminded us what we were missing out on. That show was some of the most fun we’ve had to date with our local Denver crowd! We even had some friends surprise us by traveling from Florida and Wisconsin to see the show.
We followed that show up with the release of three music videos: Gettin’ Down, Baby Drink and What We Want. By the end of the summer, we finally released the album we had spent 11 months working on. The fall was spent getting our stage legs back as we transitioned from album promotion to live shows once again. After enduring all of the highs and lows that come with the release of an album, we were elated to end our year at the Bluebird Theater on a high note. Opening up for the Rebirth Brass Band to a nearly sold out theater on back-to-back nights on Christmas weekend was perhaps the highlight of our year.
So what can you expect in 2018? We’re hoping to build on the momentum of those Bluebird shows and begin filling out our calendar for the coming year where we plan to focus on our live shows. January will be slow as we all come back together after a holiday break, but expect at least one full band show in Denver every month. Also, keep you eyes peeled for more acoustic shows this year. Jesse and Chris will be teaming up to perform as an acoustic duo all over Colorado in bars, breweries, coffee houses and at special events. We’re also already working on summer dates. This means hitching the trailer back up to hit the road in a series of long-weekend tours. We’re already targeting Santa Fe, Phoenix, Chicago, Boise, Vegas, Los Angeles and Nashville.
Our main goal is to continue to grow our fanbase. The more of you we get to party with on a nightly basis, the more fun we have. For this, we also need your help. As a small, indie band, we don’t have the reach of regular radio play or repeated, expensive ad campaigns. If you have friends that enjoy our brand of rock music, bring them along to a show. Pull us up on Spotify and play them your favorite song. Word of mouth is our biggest weapon right now!
As we hope to build our success this coming year, we also want to wish all of you a very happy and fortuitous 2018. May you reach your goals, recognize your success and maybe even keep your resolutions in the coming year! We’ll see you on the dance floor!
